Statement of Faith
God – The Trinity
We confess that there is one God who truly lives — infinite, eternal, all-powerful, and perfect in holiness, justice, truth, and love. Within the unity of His divine nature, God exists eternally in three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These Persons are equal in glory and majesty, sharing the same essence while remaining personally distinct. The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Spirit, and the Spirit is not the Father, yet each is fully and truly God. The triune God is the center of the Christian faith and the source of all life.
God the Father
The Father created the heavens and the earth by His word and for His glory, calling all things into existence out of nothing. He upholds the universe and governs all events in perfect wisdom and sovereign authority. His purposes stand firm and cannot fail.
He is faithful in all He promises, works for the good of those who love Him, and gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem humanity. All creation exists to honor Him, and human beings in particular were designed to know Him and live in relationship with Him.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who took on human flesh. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He is both fully divine and fully human. He perfectly reveals the character of God and is the One through whom creation came into being and is sustained.
Jesus lived without sin and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world. On the cross He bore humanity’s guilt, satisfied divine justice, and displayed God’s profound love. He rose bodily from the grave on the third day, triumphing over sin, death, and the powers of darkness. Having ascended into heaven, He now reigns at the Father’s right hand and intercedes for His people. He is the Head of the Church and worthy of all devotion, obedience, and worship.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is fully God and the giver of spiritual life. He convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment, drawing people to faith in Christ. The Spirit brings about new birth, unites believers to Jesus, and dwells within them as the guarantee of their salvation.
He glorifies Christ, leads the Church into truth, strengthens believers for godly living, empowers their worship and witness, and bestows spiritual gifts for the building up of the body of Christ. The Spirit is to be honored and worshiped alongside the Father and the Son.
The Scriptures
We affirm that the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are fully trustworthy, without error in their original writings, and authoritative over all matters of faith, doctrine, and daily living.
God’s Word reveals His plan of redemption through Christ and is to be diligently studied, believed, and obeyed. No human tradition, spiritual impression, or outside authority may contradict or add to the truth of Scripture.
Humanity
God created mankind — male and female — in His image, calling them to reflect His character and enjoy fellowship with Him. Through disobedience, humanity fell into sin, becoming separated from God, subject to judgment, and enslaved to sin’s power. Apart from God’s grace, people are unable to save themselves or return to Him. Reconciliation with God is possible only through Jesus Christ.
The Gospel
The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ — His incarnation, sinless life, sacrificial death, victorious resurrection, and ascension. On the cross He died in the place of sinners, satisfying God’s justice and displaying His mercy. His resurrection assures victory over sin and death and offers eternal life to all who believe. Jesus alone stands as the mediator between God and humanity, and salvation is found exclusively in Him.
Response to the Gospel
God calls all people to turn from sin and trust in Jesus Christ. Genuine faith produces a changed life characterized by obedience, service, and devotion to Christ. While repentance and good works do not earn salvation, they demonstrate that salvation is real. This gospel message is to be proclaimed to all people everywhere.
Salvation and Inheritance
Salvation is entirely a work of God’s grace and is received through faith in Christ alone. Through Christ’s atoning work, believers are justified, forgiven, reconciled to God, and adopted into His family. Christ’s righteousness is credited to them, and they receive the promise of eternal life. Through the regenerating work of the Spirit, believers are set free from sin’s dominion and are assured that God will preserve them to the end.
Sanctification
The Holy Spirit works continually in every believer, shaping them into the likeness of Christ. Though sin remains present in this life, the Spirit empowers believers to pursue holiness, practice spiritual disciplines, and bear fruit that glorifies God. Perseverance in faith is both the believer’s responsibility and the result of God’s sustaining grace.
Empowered by the Spirit
The Holy Spirit equips the Church for ministry and mission. He grants boldness to proclaim Christ and distributes spiritual gifts for the strengthening of the Church. These gifts are to be sought earnestly, exercised in love, and practiced with order and humility. They remain essential to the Church’s mission today.
The Church
The Church is the redeemed people of God, united to Christ and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. It is not confined to a single institution but includes all who belong to Jesus. The Church exists to glorify God through worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, and mission.
Believers are called to gather in local congregations devoted to biblical teaching, prayer, breaking bread, and mutual encouragement. The Church’s mission is to proclaim the gospel and make disciples among all nations.
Marriage and Sexuality
God created humanity as male and female in His image. Marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to unite one man and one woman for life and to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church. Sexual intimacy is a gift from God intended for marriage alone. All sexual activity outside this covenant stands contrary to Scripture.
Ordinances
We recognize two ordinances instituted by Christ:
Baptism — A sign of the believer’s union with Christ in His death and resurrection, publicly declaring one’s faith and new life in Him.
The Lord’s Supper — A continuing act of remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice, a means of spiritual nourishment, and a visible expression of unity within the body of Christ.
The Consummation
We await the visible and glorious return of Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead. The redeemed will be raised to everlasting life in a renewed creation, while those apart from Christ will face eternal separation from God. At Christ’s return, God’s kingdom will be fully realized, creation will be restored, and His glory will shine forever.
